Buildings! Where are the buildings!
The entire world of Guildwars is a roofless land. It's like everyone forgot that having a roof above your head can be a good thing.
Sure, we RUN on rooves (spell?) but we can't go into the rooms themselves. Guild hall doesn't really feel like a hall rahter than a big arena / concert looking place with people standing around.
We need houses for more roleplaying and maybe connect with other people. Put the merchants in houses and make towns as they should be. I hope in Chapt 3 they will consider a more down to earth city where people are inside selling stuff and you have to go to STORES to buy things.
It's more fun seeing people running around in the streets, going into stores than having everyone walking everywhere in a plain field of people.

Well that proves that roofs work very well in the guildwars engine and that camera angles don't screw up with a confined place.
SO WHY NO ROOFS!

Might add some lag/framerate issues with alot of people camping in it.

not really.
A) why would they camp inside a merchant room?
B) We've all seen places with ALOT of people and it barely lags (even on my 900mhz Geforce 3 computer)

Great halls with ceilings the height of existing caves would work well. But realistic ~10ft (3m) ceilings of houses and such wouldn't work so well with the camera. I went inside the kurzick settlements tents in kryta and the camera seemed a little close for comfort. So large halls, yes, houses, not so much.
Indoor areas would be aweome over all I think.

I guess make the rooms feel like a small room but are actually large rooms? Like make the cieling about 5m high, but add chandeliers candles and what not to make them feel cosy.

Well, there aren't Imo major cities or proper towns in GW yet...Lion's Arch,Droknar,Kaineing Center a.k.a the *big cities* are more like quite small outdoor bazaar/tent areas. Capital cities like Cavalon & HzH are nice looking but they really aren't cities, or even proper towns.
There are no temples, shops, inns, castles, proper palaces, regular houses, banks etc. in any of the places & my friend (former WoW player) who played the game for the very first time yesterday was like "huh? does every npc in GW live in tents or under the closest tree."
Same is for explorable areas, there aren't basically any indoor areas to explore. Ruins of some castle, towers, dungeons, caves, etc...
Proper indoor areas and proper cities would be more than welcome to the world of Guild Wars.

you forget the Catacombs in pre-searing Ascalon, and the Gothic guild hall (the grenth, necro, thingy... cant remember the name). And the Undercity!
But it's true that some more inside areas would be nice, cities with houses with NPC's and such, sorta like Neverwinter Nights or Oblivion.

The undercity is partially rooved, you can still look up at the skyway, and vice versa.
Its possible to make small merchant houses in which the rooves dissappear when you enter inside, to prevent blockage or bad camera angles. A few MMORPG's do it.

I left that *basically* just to reserve it for Catacombs , that particular area is unique in GW.
If you look Undercity, it looks like upper areas of Kaineing City but with more darker textures.
I mean that it would be cool to have interiors i.e when you go to some forest area, there could be a frozen lake with large spiral steps going inside the lake to darkness, etc etc...
In the end it would be dumn to think that folks at Anet haven't thought about all this since indoor areas are pretty common and wanted thing to a RPG. Yeah, it might be the limitations of engine (camera angle and whatnots), but I hope the engine gets some kind of support for complex interiors in future.

You know what would be the ultimate ownage? If there was a huge city with residential districts where people can have their own homes for their own accounts and have some extra storage space in them.
